We have annual events , such as seeing the comedienne or play at the JCC’s Arts Books and Culture Festival, attending the JCC’s Jewish Film Festival , our annual Chanukah book club night and bowling in August. Food is always a part of our evening( you shouldn’t be hungry). Friendships and Temple connections are made- it’s nice to see a familiar face at the Oneg, ya know? The Henry Raich Social Group is an auxiliary of Temple Emanuel, serving to encourage the involvement of all seniors in Temple Emanuel activities Our programs are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 12 noon, and efforts are made to provide transportation if needed.
Our programs are varied from Art to Religion. We are pleased to count our clergy as speakers plus people from the community who bring interesting ideas and subjects for our information and/or entertainment. In October, we hold a Senior dinner followed by Shabbat services in which members participate.
We welcome all members of Temple Emanuel and guests and there is no charge to anyone. Bring your “Brown Bag” lunch and we will provide cookies and drinks, good conversation and a pleasant afternoon.
Look for our flyers at the beginning of each month with the date and program notes!
Temple Emanuel’s Up and Comers is a group of individuals, couples and families in their 20s, 30s and 40s who want to further connect and become more engaged within the Temple Emanuel family.
Our mission is to nurture “connection” amongst our young adults and families throughout our Temple Emanuel community by offering a variety of events during the year. We have organized as well as loosely structured activities. If you are a young single, a young couple or a young family, this is the perfect group for you. Our group is friendly and welcoming. Once you join us for an event or activity, you’ll be hooked! Find us on Facebook
Some events will be adults only, others will have babysitting available, and some will include children.
The Prime Timers are couples and singles who are in between Temple Emanuel’s Empty Nesters and Seniors groups. Not only do they plan group-wide events such as monthly lunches, but members can suggest and organize outings that may be attended only by a small number of people. Prime Timers activities are open to all TE members. Besides the lunches on the third Thursday of each month, the group plans outings for area performances, and exhibits – often with lunches or dinners – as they become available. Contact the office for more information.
